Whilst some stored locos had plated up cabs and secured engine bays, by October 1996 (just a few months prior to scrapping), Queensland Railway's 1302 sits at Mowbray near Launceston having been ratted by workshops staff, preservation groups restoring Y locomotives, and the vandals.
