Video Clips
From July 2011 clips on this page are being reedited from original footage and moved across to a YouTube channel. The moved clips can be identified by not being hyperlink on this page (but they are included on the relevant loco class pages). New clips are also being added as time allows.
Most files around 1 MB in size (some newer clips are larger), and are up to 30 seconds in length. Various formats have been used.
Freight Trains
- ZA5 & Z2 lead a loaded woodchip log train on the Bell Bay line, late 1980s [© Australian National Railways] (WMV Format)

- DC4588 and a DQ haul #58 loaded logs on the Bell Bay line, February 2002
- Y2151 hauls a rake of container wagons and empty boxes though Glenorchy, on its way to the Boyer paper mill, February 2002
- ZC2145 & ZC2141 haul a lighly loaded goods bound for Tonganah, April 2004
- ZA2114 and Z2110 haul early afternoon train 638 northward near Austin’s Ferry, 2 January 2004
- Due to late running on the south bound train, two DQ class ex train 38 and the ZB class Boyer shunter haul the wagons for train 32 through Brighton on 19 December 2003. As these locos have incompatible control systems, two crews are required. (AVI Format)
- ZR2100, QR2062 & DQ2011 leaving Brighton, 25 February 2002
- Driving trailer DV1 (ex Y7) leads a Railton bound empty cement train away from Devonport while loco 2001 pushes at the rear. 10 February 2002
Preservation
- Don River Railway locomotive X4 hauls a short tour train past Botanical Gardens
- Derwent Valley Railway locomotives X18 and Y2 approach Hobart with empty stock to form an excursion train to Ross, 1 September 2002
- Derwent Valley Railway locomotives Y2 and X18 depart Hobart with an excursion train to Ross, 1 September 2002
- Tasmanian Transport Museum's railcar DP26 on its test run between Bridgewater and Rogerville, 16 June 2002
- Rack Tank No.3 of the Abt Wilderness Railway heads a short Rinadeena bound service through South Queenstown. 10 March 2002
- Tamanian Transport Musuem's Y4 and Derwent Valley Railway's Y2 and train approaching Sunderland Street. At this stage Y2 is shutdown. March 2003
- Tasmanian Transport Museum's steam loco M5 approaching Hobart yard, November 2001 (WMV Format)
Diesel Sounds
- D2021, D2020, ZR2101 haul DQ2006 & DQ2010 and 28 wagons up the grade into Rogerville, 24 July 2001 (MP3 format, 59 s, 420 kB)
- DQ2012, DQ2009, QR2102 & DQ2005 combine to haul 23 wagons away from Rhyndaston, on 7 April 2001. (MP3 format, 1 m 08 s, 265 kB)
- The horn of DQ2012, heard while approaching Colebrook on the same day
